Working with someone who is truly passionate about their art gave me that extra push I needed to keep fighting towards my own dreams and passions...dreams can still come true.

Aria Johnson is an energy whose light fiercely precedes her. So it was a no-brainer to add her confident curves, bold attitude and vibrant spirit to Fort Lily's fall/winter lookbook shoot. She also did a great job of keeping us all awake!

To be a Leading Lily is not simply about an aesthetic. As beautiful as all the Leading Lilys are, the key to these vignettes is to showcase talented females whose lives tell stories that are relatable to the everyday woman--and Aria's story is that of the striving entertainer. So let's get to it!

Tell us who you are. Is what you're currently doing your passion?
I am currently a 5th grade teacher, and although I love my students teaching is not my passion. As cliche as it might sound "I was born to be a star." Musical theater, singing, acting and modeling is my passion.  Broadway is my ultimate goal, and I will make it there one day. That's my passion!

What, if anything, is keeping you from being who you believe is your true self?
Money would be about the only thing stopping me at this point. You have to have money to make money and being a teacher isn't helping me save the money that I need to go. I guess one day I'll just have to get up and say, 'forget it I'm out, money or no money.' I believe that I have what it takes to make it.

Name the last song you heard?
"Hanging by a Moment" by Lifehouse

What's the most valuable lesson you've learned, and are you still applying that lesson to your life now?
James: 1:19 "Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger."

What was the most influential thing to have happened to you?
I would have to say it would be being able to perform with the "Black Stars of the Great White Way," during the National Black Theater Festival 2015. Being able to work with composer, producer and co-chair Mr. Chapman Roberts made me realize that dreams can still come true. Working with someone who is truly passionate about their art gave me that extra push I needed to keep fighting towards my own dreams and passions. It taught me to not just like what you do, but to love it, live it, become it!

What is your connection to Fort Lily, and how do you perceive the brand?
Well I have the honor to say that I'm not only related to the beautiful and talented creator of Fort Lily, but she is also my best friend. A person whom I look up to and aspire to be like one day. In relation to Fort Lily, I believe myself to be strong, hardworking and creative, especially when it comes to fashion! I believe that the origin and meaning behind Fort Lily creativity and women's empowerment, and I'm all for that!
